BioCapSol Kimya A.Ş. aims at providing an improved process for extracting and encapsulating biological content from plants and vegetables using benign chemistries that can be applied at an industrial scale. The LycoSOL project extracts carotenoids from waste by-products of tomato paste production through a 100% natural and low-cost production method through patented technology. The post process peels and fibres are also value added products and can be used as animal feed based on the biological nature of the extraction process supporting sustainability. In addition, LycoSOL encapsulates natural substances, with a technology pending for patent protection, in a way that standards of taste and shelf life demanded by food manufacturers are successfully satisfied and no artificial stabilisers are utilised.
