With more than 15 winning cases, Octopux Consulting is proud to have contributed to another successful case within the Horizon 2020 programme: “AIMSAutomatic Integrated Monitoring System” (SME Instrument scheme – Phase 1, Feasibility Study).

The business champion is the French-based company SINAY sarl. The proposal was evaluated with a score of 13.37 points out of 15, with an awarded EU grant (70%) of 50.000 € within a total budget of 71.429 €. The project consists in the implementation of a Technical and Economic Feasibility Study lasting for 6 months.

Mr. Yanis Souami, the CEO of SINAY, is an European example of entrepreneurship by excellence: after having obtained an initial score of 9.16, SINAY decided to hire Octopux to re-draft entirely the AIMS project proposal which was finally awarded for funding.

The overall objective of the AIMS project is to develop a totally integrated underwater marine data system applied to the Environmental Monitoring market. The AIMS solution is composed by a network of data collection tools (acoustic buoys, imagery systems, etc.), a Big Data platform for data storage and analysis, and flexible Graphic User Interfaces (GUI) for providing environmental information to users. It is a turnkey, a one-stop- shop solution associated to a complete range of services (consulting, training, assistance), thus covering the whole value chain. The strategy of AIMS allows solving serious problems that exist in the field of the environmental monitoring sector, namely: the segmentation of the market, the non-disclosure of scientific methods (black-box tools), and inadequate IT resources available for dealing with growing volumes of data.
